1 - shop around
2 - look at bridesmaids dresses. I got a bridesmaid dress in the style i loved and then had it altered slightly....it was stunning and cheap!!
3-I had a sewing teacher. She told me she could finish a dress in one day.
For me the dress itself was 150 and the alterations were 50 - giving me a grand total of 200 and a dress that i absolutly loved!
Rings - Ally
1 - again i say shop around
2 - look at local artists!
3 - ironically we found our rings at a festival. There was an artist quarter and they were hand made, they even adjusted them for us!
At 25 each our rings were ridiculously cheap....and they were the only ones that we saw that we liked!
Drink - Ally
1 - shop around
2 - for about 3 monhts before the wedding we went to the local supermarkets and brought all the wine and beer when it was on offer
I can honestly say but i think it was around the 100 mark. Bear in mind that we had over 100 guests and we have enough alocohol to last us till christmas!
Food - Ally
I'm not even going to bother with number one anymore!
2 - try wholesalers!
We borrowed a wholesale card from a friend who owns a resturant - we then had a hog roast as a main - it went down spectacularly!
200 for all the wholesale food and 120 for the hog roast!
marquee's - Ally
Note - We had our reception outside.
Tip 1 - Ebay! And Craigslist!
Tip 2 - friends! we borrowed a tent from the local scout group, and 5 gazebo's from friends
a grand total of 80 for the marquee from ebay - which we can now choose to keep or sell on....
Music - Ally
Both the bands we liked were busy on our wedding day so we decided to pull together a playlist and play it from my laptop. We borrowed a PA system from a local venue, and i made a slideshow of photos for people to watch...it was great!
absolutly nothing!
Decorations - Ally
Again i was the ebay queen on this one. I brought crepe paper and ribbon in the colours and went made with celotape!
The other thing was we got a friend (who makes silk flags) to lend us 24 silk flags.
The moral of this - speak to your frien
Approximatly 30 in total :D
venue - ally
ceremony venue - this was our biggest spend - a castle :D - but this was the part my husbands family paid for!
Reception venue - we live in the middle of the country and our landlady owns a field ---i'm sure you can see where this is going!
The castle was a whopping 1000
The field was free - again a generous friend!
Photography - ally
Again we were incredibly lucky! Our landlady's daughter is a photographer and was kind enough to do our photography for free as a gift!
again - absolutly nothing!
other decorations - ally
This was my husbands idea, With the invitations we gave everyone a piece of ribbon and asked them to attach something/anything to it. On the day we then asked everyone to attach their 'things' to a tree.
The ribbon was a part of the invite anyway so again this cost us nothing.....and it looked stunning!
